This was how the sketchbook comic ended, and this is what I declare to be the official ending of this storyline (although there’s another Mandrake and a brief epilogue yet to come.)

The circus crew joyfully reunites outside the wreckage.
BOSS: Great, we’re all safe. Now you know what they say!
MICHELLE: …”Let’s all go to the emergency room and have ourselves checked for smoke inhalation”?
BOSS: “The show must go on”!
MICHELLE: But the show’s in ten minutes! The fire hasn’t even been put out yet! The firefighters haven’t even come yet! Nobody’s even called the fire department yet!
BOSS: The show must go on, dammit.
