#223 Chicks, Man

Awww, who’s an emo kitten?

I’ve got comics through Christmas, at least, so don’t be afraid to come back on Tuesdays and Thursdays for new comics until such a time as I tell you I’m slacking off again.

Evolution of a script:
Draft #1: LANCE: I’m dumb and unemployed and I live in a basement.
Draft #2: LANCE: I’m dumb and unemployed and I live underground.
Draft #3: LANCE: I’m dumb and unemployed and I live in the ground.
Cut and print!

LANCE: I get it. I’m dumb and unemployed and I live in the ground.
ESKIMO: That’s always been enough for you before.
LANCE: It’s not enough for a classy girl like Carole.
ESKIMO: Women! They crush your spirit! They kill your dreams!
LANCE: They have loving, fulfilling relationships with you.
[Eskimo glares.]
LANCE: …And then they stop.
ESKIMO: I’m taking a stand. No more women.
LANCE: Ever?
ESKIMO: Ever.
[Lance thinks.]
LANCE: I’m in.
[Hercules handshake]

Thanks! I feel that it’s good to be unnecessarily inspirational about a cockamamy scheme.

“I live in the ground” was an inspired choice!!! So funny! and so much funnier when I think of it in opposition to “in a basement” or “underground.” He lives in the ground!!! Poor Lance!!!!

Ha ha, thanks! To be fair, I was inspired by my favorite lyrics to a Coheed and Cambria song: “You could have been all I wanted / But you weren’t honest, now get in the ground!”
